Prayer Meetings
Our church has been really challenged by the importance of prayer and by a deep desire for revival. In recent years, we have often asked the Lord what the psalmist asked in Psalm 85:6: “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?”
Bath Road Baptist Church has three weekly prayer meetings:
Wednesdays @ 12 noon to 1 PM
This is our “No coffee, no cookies, no study prayer meeting”. In other words we just get together for prayer. Some slip in late and some slip out early… because lunch hour is only so long. We finish right at 1 PM so that even those who stay for the whole prayer time can plan the rest of their day.
Wednesdays @ 7 PM
This prayer meeting runs at the same time as our child and youth programs and there is always someone to look after the nursery. Usually there is a brief message and then we devote the rest of the time to prayer.
Sundays @ 6:30 PM
This prayer meeting usually has a 25-30 minute preached message and then the rest of the time is spent in prayer.
Some thoughts on prayer…

We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties. ~Oswald Chambers
When you pray, rather let your heart be without words than your words without heart. ~John Bunyan
Prayer requires more of the heart than of the tongue. ~Adam Clarke
Prayer is the language of a man burdened with a sense of need. ~E.M. Bounds
