Meet Our Staff
Pastor Peter Ryttersgaard
Peter is married to Melanie and loves being married! He thinks that a good marriage is one of the greatest blessings God gives to His people. He has three children and is really thankful to the Lord for each one of them.
Peter loves being a pastor, loves the people that make up Bath Road Baptist Church, and loves being able to study and preach the Word of God. On Sundays it’s a delight to worship God and to spend time with other people who love God and want to live for Him.
Other things he also enjoys… spending time with the family. Riding his motorcycle spring and summer. Deer hunting in the fall. Some skiing in the winter. Going for a walk with his two black labs. Going for a bicycle ride with his wife. Watching football (esp. CFL).
Peter has a Bachelor of Theology from Toronto Baptist Seminary, a Master of Theological Studies from Central Baptist Seminary (now Heritage), a Master of Divinity from Ontario Theological Seminary (now Tyndale), and a Doctorate of Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary (Newburgh IN). Peter has ministered full time at Bath Road Baptist Church since 1991. Before Kingston, Peter previously served at Jarvis Street Baptist Church.

Pastor Stephen Ahlberg
Pastor Stephen joined the church in March 2012 as the Associate Pastor responsible for Christian Education and Discipleship.
Stephen and Leigh-Anne both grew up in Christian homes in eastern Ontario and met while working at a bible camp. Stephen and Leigh-Anne moved with their family so Stephen could take on the position here at Bath Road Baptist Church. Previously he was the program director at Southern Alberta Bible Camp.
Through his years of camp work Stephen has worked with all ages of children and teens and has been involved in discipling young adults who have served at the camps. Stephen and Leigh-Anne both want to live for Christ and serve Him in the most fruitful way they can and are excited about serving him here at Bath Road Baptist Church.
Stephen and Leigh-Anne love the challenges and rewards of getting to raise four great children. All of them love spending time outside, exploring parks and reading.

Pastor John Downs
Dr. John Downs has been an ordained minister for fifty years serving several Baptist churches in Ontario. John also had a 28 year career as a chaplain serving Corrections Canada in various institutions in the Kingston area (Joyceville, Prison for Women, Frontenac and Bath Institutions). More recently John has been asked to serve as a pastor at Bath Road Baptist Church and has been a tremendous help in Bible study leadership and visitation, especially among some of our seniors.
John has a Bachelor of Arts from Queens University, a Master of Divinity from Toronto Baptist Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary.

Debbie Emigh
Debbie Emigh, our administrative assistant, is the one who makes everything work! She works Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and can be reached by phone at 613-548-4564 or email at demigh@bathroadbaptist.com. Debbie and her husband Gord have been at the church for a number of years and have been involved in too many ways to count! Recently Debbie travelled to Malawi to be involved in our missions there and to be involved in a women’s conference. If you have questions about our missions there, she can probably answer them!
Debbie Bratus
Debbie Bratus works part time as our nursery and pre-school coordinator. On Sundays she makes sure there is qualified child care and good programs for these ages during Sunday School and also the morning and evening services. On Wednesday nights she also makes sure there is a good program for these ages. The church has a great caretaker to make sure things are clean but Debbie comes in during the week to make sure the rooms and toys for these little ones are clean to a mother’s standards!
