Bible Studies
For the adults… There are different small group Bible studies to choose from on Wednesday nights. You are welcome to sign up for any of the three Bible studies listed below. Just show up the first night about 5-10 minutes before starting time! The Bible studies will begin on Sept 8th at 7:00 pm. The cost of the studies are $5.00.
Matthew, The Coming of the King
(led by Cliff Van Volkingburgh)
Matthew, The Coming of the King is a twelve week study with thought provoking questions for individual and group discussion and verse by verse commentary. Matthew’s gospel interweaves a strong Jewish knowledge of the expected Messiah with a first hand account of the actual Savior. Every detail of this book confirms Jesus’ deity and proves He is the Messiah of Isreal and the Savior of the world.
A House Divided (A Study in 1 Kings)
(led by Gord Emigh)
Fire pours down from heaven as Elijah defeats more than four hundred false prophets. A starving widow pours oil from a pitcher that never runs dry. A king and queen conspire to murder a man simply because they want his garden. The reigns of the kings of Isreal were turbulent indeed, marked by a succession of ungodly kings in conflict with the prophets of the Lord. A House Divided takes an in-depth look at the historical period beginning with the end of Solomon’s reign, continuing through the split between Judah and the rest of Isreal, and concluding with the end of Elijah’s ministry.
The Cross
(led by Ben Raymond and Peter Ryttersgaard)
The cross transforms everything: our worship, our call to mission, our ability to love our enemies and to face the perplexities of suffering. No theology is genuinely Christian that does not arise from and focus on the cross—the center of the historic biblical faith. Drawing on John Stott’s classic book The Cross of Christ, the studies in this guide are designed to bring us to the heart of the cross with the understanding of what was accomplished there on our behalf.
