About Us

Bath Road Baptist ChurchThe Bath Road Baptist Church family is a diverse group of believers growing in our love for God and for each other! We are a pretty ordinary group of people of all ages and many different backgrounds; not too big, not too small (around 175-200). In our worship, we seek to express our love to God through a blend of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.

In our messages from the Bible, we seek to explain accurately what God has made known in His book, and we apply it practically. Click the “sermons” link to access our SermonAudio sermon files. Sermons are also posted on our YouTube channel (Bath Road Baptist Church), and are livestreamed at 10:30 am.

Because we believe that God has shown Himself to us most clearly in Jesus Christ, Jesus is at the centre of everything that we do. We believe that God has created us to love Him, please Him, and enjoy Him forever, and to love other people in His name.  Children are welcome and encouraged to participate in the entirety of our corporate worship, as their parents see fit. However, we also provide childcare for those who would like it (once pandemic restrictions end) with the goal of fully incorporating the children into the corporate worship service. We would love to see you this Sunday!

WHAT TO EXPECT

Walking into a church for the first time can be a daunting experience. When you come to Bath Road, we hope that you will sense a place where God is of prime importance, and where everyone is warmly welcome! What you wear doesn’t matter; some people dress up in suits or dresses, others wear jeans and a t-shirt. Wear what you’re comfortable in, and you’ll be welcome!

Our service begins with a time of singing contemporary songs and traditional hymns. Even if you don’t usually go to church, we hope that you’ll hear songs that you can relate to, and if you’re a veteran church-goer, you’ll hear something familiar too. More than anything, we try to sing songs that exalt Jesus Christ and express our hearts in worship to God. Every Sunday morning, we collect an offering; this is an opportunity for people who call Bath Road Baptist their home church to give. If you’re new to the church, there’s no need for you to give so just pass the plate by if it comes your way. One of the pastors, or a visiting preacher, will speak from God’s Word – there are Bibles in the foyer if you don’t have one. Feel free to keep it or return it to the cabinet when church is over. The focus of the message is to proclaim the truth of the Bible and how it should impact our lives. The service usually ends with a closing prayer and an opportunity for people to greet those around them. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to meet the pastor in the foyer or speak to someone around you who can either help you or point you to someone who can.

One thing to remember: sometimes the people around you will be new too…so don’t hesitate to shake their hands and welcome them to church. You’ll be glad you did!

SUPPORTING THE KINGSTON COMMUNITY

We have a keen interest in the well-being of those living in the Kingston community and surrounding area. Galatians 6:10 directs our actions to fellow believers and to those who may be in need in our community:

“So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

The church financially supports locally the work of the Kingston Pregnancy Care Centre, Youth Unlimited, a couple of Christian schools, along with the Partners in Mission Food Bank and Martha’s Table. In addition, as community needs arise we consider how we can best help. The church benevolent fund is regularly accessed to provide funds to those who call the church for financial assistance, or who drop by expressing a need. Gas cards and grocery gift cards are distributed, as available. While we can’t help everyone, we want to please the Lord by doing what we can to “do good to everyone”!
